Situated prominently along Burwood Road, St Paul’s Anglican Church stands within the Anglican inheritance of Sydney as one of the enduring ecclesiastical works of Edmund Blacket. Constructed in sandstone in the Gothic Revival tradition, the church is marked by its tower, slate roof, carved stone tracery, stained glass windows, and the enduring presence of its historic pipe organ.
Built between 1889 and 1891 and listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register, St Paul’s has remained a place of prayer, sacramental worship, sacred music, and gathered Christian life for generations within the heart of Burwood.
Within the church, stone, timber, candlelight, sacred music, and filtered light through stained glass together form a Sacred Place ordered toward reverence, ceremony, and the solemnity of Christian marriage.
The St Paul's Parish Hall
The Shared Table, within the same Ekklesia
The Parish Hall sits immediately beside St Paul's Church, allowing the ceremony and reception to take place together without the need for transport between venues.
Built in the 1960s, the hall forms part of the heritage-listed parish setting, providing a practical reception space within the historic grounds of St Paul's.
After the ceremony, guests simply move to the hall, where the Shared Table is prepared and the celebration continues with dining and conversation.
